- This is fine. There are plenty of hobby programs out there. I urge you to
- check out comp.graphics.raytracing. There are shareware modelers that can be
- used with PovRay. I have seen stunning images from these tools.

- You want seem want to have your cake and eat it too. You also don't seem to
- get the fact that some companies are formed by people who have other
- responsibilities and cannot easily afford the $1000 either. I understand that
- people dislike having to pay a lot of money for professional tools, but that
- does not make it reasonable to actually EXPECT to not have to pay a lot of
- money. There is a difference. I don't expect Snap-On tools to sell me tools
- at half price merely because I am not a professional mechanic. It would be
- nice, but I don't expect it. Why do you expect to get professional level
- tools just so you can "mess around"? It makes no sense.

- Since when are professionals not normal folks? I doubt many students
- really have any idea what is involved in running a business. It makes
- most school look like a vacation. "From each according to his ability, to
- each according to his need.", just doesn't work. You are preaching an old
